Leon Fei Violin
16 year old Leon Fei, born in Melbourne, started learning violin at the age of 5 and is currently a student of Dr. Robin Wilson. Leon has won numerous 1st prizes and scholarships in local and international competitions over the past years. He was the winner of 2020 Melbourne Recital Centre’s Bach Competition, 2019 Preston Symphony
Orchestra Youth Concerto Competition and Audience Prize, 2017 AUSTA Paul McDermott Scholarship for Violin, 2017 3MBS Fine Music Young Performer Award and Audience Choice Award, and the youngest winner of Australia National Fine Music Young Virtuoso Award in 2017.
Leon has performed as a soloist in Carnegie Hall in New York, Hamer Hall in Melbourne, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Melbourne Recital Centre, on air on 3MBS Radiothon Program, and on Australia’s ABC TV program. In 2019 Leon performed as a soloist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, to an audience of over 13,600 people.
