Welcoming solo instrumentalists to Australia's premier music competition for young people, now in it's 34th year!

REGIONAL applicants will perform a 6 to 10 minute live audition - piece or pieces of their own choice

and if selected as a finalist, perform before an adjudicator and audience, 6 to 10 minute program.

Concerto movements, excerpts and arrangements of pieces for other instruments are allowedRemember, winning is a bonus, competing is the real value.

NATIONAL applicants submit an audition video via YouTube not exceeding 30 minutes, containing at least 2 pieces from each of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern periods. Concerto movements, excerpts and arrangements of pieces for other instruments are allowed.

 

If selected as a finalist, present a program of their own not exceeding 30 minutes. A finalist may be invited to perform with the Geelong Symphony Orchestra. Remember, our adjudicators will expect you are well on the way to mastering your instrument, so your performance will be judged not only technique and interpretation but also on presentation and communication.
